Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather, today convened a meeting with the senior officers to review progress on construction of the new Legislature Complex at Jammu.
Secretary, Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, Achal Sethi; Engineer-in-Chief Purshotam Kumar, Chief Engineer R&B Jammu Rajesh Kumar; Secretary, JKLA, Manoj Kumar Pandita; Director Finance PWD HK Prashar, SE R&B, South Circle Jammu Arit Gupta, and other senior officers of concerned departments and Assembly Secretariat were present in the meeting.
Threadbare discussion was held on the issues pertaining to early completion of the new Assembly Complex including provision for Central Hall, committee cum meeting rooms, seating capacity, library, Media room etc.
A detailed presentation about various phases of project execution was presented by the Executive Engineer in charge of the project through a PowerPoint Presentation.
The Speaker was apprised that Central Hall has been proposed as it is one of the basic requirements of the Legislative Assembly. It was also informed that there is a provision for 5 committee cum meeting rooms with the seating capacity ranging from 50 to 100 chairs.
Regarding the space for the Library and Media room, it was apprised that there is sufficient space for both requirements.
The Speaker, after reviewing the progress of development works of Assembly Complex emphasized the timely completion of the project while maintaining high quality standards. He directed the executing agency to complete the project within the stipulated time frame.
