Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Lok Bhawan in Srinagar on Saturday to discuss the proposed expansion of the Council of Ministers.

Speaking after the meeting, Omar Abdullah said he had requested time early next week to facilitate changes in his Council of Ministers and expand the cabinet.

The Chief Minister stated that the Lieutenant Governor would now finalise the timing, following which the cabinet expansion process would be completed.

Omar Abdullah also said that he had sought the meeting to enquire about the Lieutenant Governor’s well-being and discuss other important matters on which he wanted his opinion.

The meeting has fuelled expectations of a possible cabinet reshuffle in Jammu and Kashmir, with all eyes now on next week for further developments.
