KD Multispeciality Hospital, Jammu, organised a comprehensive awareness programme under the Nasha Mukht Abhiyan with the objective of educating patients and attendants about the harmful effects of drug abuse on individuals, families, and society.

On the occasion, renowned medical specialists including Dr. J.P. Singh, leading Ophthalmologist; Dr. Nikhil Mahajan, leading Cardiologist; Dr. Tajeshwar Singh, Urologist; and Dr. Sumit Sharma, CEO, KD Hospital, interacted with patients and attendants and highlighted the growing menace of substance abuse.

The doctors sensitised the gathering about the serious physical, psychological, social, and economic consequences of drug addiction. They stressed that drug abuse not only destroys the health and future of individuals but also causes immense suffering to families and weakens the social fabric of society. The speakers urged the youth to stay away from drugs and adopt healthy lifestyles.

Addressing the participants, the doctors emphasized the importance of early intervention, counselling, and community support in tackling the drug menace. They also appealed to parents and guardians to remain vigilant and actively engage with their children to prevent substance abuse.

The medical team reiterated KD Hospital’s commitment towards public health awareness and social responsibility.
