Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the Union Cabinet’s decision to expand the Srinagar Airport will give a major push to the economy of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister, as per news agency, said, “A boost to Jammu and Kashmir! Today’s Cabinet decision on expanding the Srinagar airport will boost the economy of J&K. It will strengthen connectivity and encourage tourism.”
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the expansion of the civil enclave at Srinagar Airport, a move aimed at enhancing passenger capacity and improving overall air connectivity in the Valley.
The expansion is expected to further accelerate tourism growth and open new avenues for economic development in the Union Territory.
