Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday announced that the necessary paperwork for providing land to landless families affected by the floods has been completed, assuring that the relief process will be fair and transparent.

Responding to questions about rehabilitation efforts for flood-affected families, the Chief Minister said there was no need for a new policy, as existing frameworks already covered the requirements.“As far as landless people are concerned, the paperwork has been completed, and they will be provided land under the PMAY pattern,” Omar said, as reported by news agency.

He further stated that a central team, including the Union Agriculture Minister, had assessed the damage and found that Jammu suffered losses comparable to those in Kashmir during the 2014 floods.

“The government has written to the Centre regarding the relief package, and once it is received, the aid will be distributed without any discrimination,” the Chief Minister added.(KNO)
