Despite the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, the administration has assured that it will have minimal impact on the upcoming Mela Kheer Bhawani, and all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the religious festival proceeds smoothly.
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, V K Bidhuri, while inspecting the arrangements at Mata Kheer Bhawani temple in Tulmulla, Ganderbal, said the security, water, electricity and other facilities for the festival are fully in place. He added that a large number of devotees are expected to participate this year as well.
Addressing concerns about security following the Pahalgam terror incident, the Div Com, as reported by the news agency, said, “The recent attack will have the least impact on the Kheer Bhawani yatra. We are confident that the festival will proceed peacefully, and we are expecting a good turnout of devotees, similar to previous years. We still have ample time for preparations, and the devotees will come and depart with a positive message.”
He urged devotees to visit the temple with devotion and assured them of their safety and the security arrangements in place. “The administration is committed to ensuring that the festival remains a celebration of faith and unity,” he added.
The upcoming Mela Kheer Bhawani at the Ragnya Devi temple in Tulmulla remains a significant religious event.
