The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today conducted searches at 10 locations across Jammu and Kashmir in connection with a cross-border terror conspiracy involving Pakistan-based handlers of the proscribed terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and their alleged local Over Ground Worker (OGW) network.

The searches were carried out in Kupwara, Kulgam, Bandipora, Baramulla and Sopore to uncover further evidence and establish the roles of individuals allegedly providing logistical support to infiltrated terrorists.

The case was initially reistered at Zakoora Police Station in Srinagar and was later re-registered by the NIA. The investigation began following the arrest of a LeT-linked OGW on March 31, 2026, from whom a hand grenade and live ammunition were recovered.

The NIA said its investigation has revealed links between Pakistan-based LeT handlers and local associates involved in communication, movement, concealment, shelter, and reconnaissance for infiltrated terrorists.

Further incriminating material was seized during the searches and is being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
