The Jammu and Kashmir Government has reiterated that all departments, PSUs, autonomous bodies, and societies funded by the government must strictly use only official ‘gov.in’ domain-based email IDs in all advertisements, notices, and communications.
According to a circular issued by GAD- JK, it has been observed that some departments are still using non-compliant email addresses, including commercial domains, in official advertisements.
The circular warns that such violations not only breach standing instructions but also pose serious cybersecurity risks such as phishing, data leakage, and unauthorized access.
The order, issued by Dr. Piyush Singla, IAS, Secretary to the Government, states that no advertisement will be allowed in print or electronic media without a valid ‘gov.in’ email ID. Any violation will invite strict action as per rules. The Information Department has been tasked with monitoring compliance and reporting violations to the GAD for disciplinary proceedings. Departments have been directed to apply for official IDs through the eForms portal (https://eforms.nic.in), with technical support available from the IT Department.
