Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday said the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are the architects of India’s future and emphasised that skills, innovation and self-confidence, rather than academic qualifications alone, will determine success in an evolving job market.
Addressing students at a Mega Job Fair held at Amar Singh College in Srinagar, Sinha said the event was aimed at connecting young people with employment opportunities while equipping them to realise their career aspirations.
Describing the fair as more than a recruitment exercise, the Lieutenant Governor said it offered thousands of young aspirants an opportunity to shape their future and embark on meaningful careers.
Calling upon students to contribute to nation-building, Sinha said the youth represent the strength behind the country’s Skill India and Digital India initiatives. He said young people require access to opportunities, proper guidance and sustained encouragement to succeed and contribute to society and national development.
The Lieutenant Governor stressed that academic degrees alone are no longer sufficient in today’s competitive environment, urging students to continuously upgrade their practical skills to remain relevant in a rapidly changing world.
He said the objective of the Mega Job Fair extended beyond employment generation and included building confidence, enhancing capabilities and creating a future-ready workforce capable of meeting emerging industry requirements.
Sinha expressed confidence that Jammu and Kashmir’s skilled workforce would play a significant role in achieving the vision of a developed India.
Addressing members of the teaching fraternity, the Lieutenant Governor said educational institutions have an increasingly important responsibility to prepare students who possess confidence, practical skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. He urged teachers to nurture self-belief among students and help them become ready for future challenges.
Expressing optimism about the region’s future, Sinha said efforts should be directed towards building a developed Jammu and Kashmir where every young person has the opportunity to showcase their talent and fulfil their aspirations.
