Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg visited Anantnag and reviewed the developmental scenario and preparedness for the ensuing winter along with implementation of various govt schemes and welfare initiatives in the district in a comprehensive meeting with the concerned officers at Dak Bungalow Khanabal today.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, SF Hamid, Director Horticulture (P&MD) Kashmir, ADCs, SP, GM DIC, ACR, ACD, SDMs, sectoral and district officers along with the representatives from NHIDCL, BRO, Oil & Gas Companies and other departments attended the meeting.
At the outset, the DC presented a detailed overview of the overall developmental landscape and welfare schemes besides the progress of the district on key initiatives like Mission Yuva, NMBA, TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, HADP, PMSGMBY and JK Samadhan, among others.
He briefed the chair about the status of social security, financial inclusion and beneficiary oriented schemes along with ongoing infrastructural projects in Health, Education, RDD, R&B, PHE, Power, and other key sectors.
Addressing the meeting, the Div Com emphasised that inter-departmental coordination and advance arrangements are essential for effective winter preparedness adding seamless flow of information is vital for mounting prompt response to any eventuality during the forthcoming winters.
He issued instructions for making the Winter Control Rooms fully functional and updating their roasters besides supplementing them with officials of all concerned departments for efficient operation.
Garg also called for enhancing the real time and area level coordination among concerned civil departments and security forces, police & SDRF units especially during emergencies.
Div Com also directed the concerned officers to ensure adequate stocking of Transformers, Ration, Fuel and LPG so the people don't face any inconvenience or shortage of essential commodities during the winter season.
Instructing the officers to ensure saturation of various Central and UT-Sponsored Schemes, Div Com said these schemes are vital for extending essential benefits to the people. He noted initiatives like PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna, Mission Yuva and HADP are highly beneficial and the concerned departments should strive for their target oriented implementation.
Calling youth empowerment a top priority, Garg stressed for result oriented implementation of self-employment schemes, adding the banks should expedite the credit lending and loan disbursal process to generate meaningful livelihoods for youth.
