The annual Mata Kheer Bhawani Yatra was ceremoniously flagged off by Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone, Sh. Bhim Sen Tuti, IPS, from Nagrota, amid elaborate administrative and security arrangements to ensure the safe passage of devotees. Present on the occasion were DIG, JKS Range, Sh Shiv Kumar Sharma, IPS; Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Sh Sachin Kumar Vaishya, IAS; Relief Commissioner, Sh Arvind Karwani, JKAS; SSP Jammu, Sh Joginder Singh, JKPS; SP Rural Jammu, Sh Brijesh Kumar among other officers.
Buses carrying devotees departed for various revered destinations associated with the Mata Kheer Bhawani Mela, including Tulmulla (Ganderbal), Tikker (Kupwara), Devsar and Manzgam (Kulgam), and Logripora (Anantnag). The main congregation will be held at Tulmulla in Ganderbal district on the Ashtami Tithi of the Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month, in which thousands of devotees gather.
The UT administration has taken comprehensive measures to ensure a safe, peaceful, and spiritually fulfilling yatra for all pilgrims.
