The Government of India has appointed senior IPS officer Anish Dayal Singh as the new Deputy National Security Adviser (Dy NSA). Singh, a 1988-batch officer, is currently serving as Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
As per news agency Singh has held several key positions during his career, including Director General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), additional charge of the National Security Guard (NSG), and Special Director in the Intelligence Bureau.
Officials said Singh will now work closely with the National Security Adviser, providing strategic inputs on a range of national security issues. His expertise in counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism is expected to play a crucial role in shaping India’s security policies.
The appointment comes at a time when India is facing complex challenges including terrorism, insurgency, cyber threats, and regional security concerns. Singh’s leadership and vast field experience are expected to further strengthen coordination between key intelligence and security agencies such as the IB and R&AW.
Observers say the government’s move reflects its continued focus on enhancing India’s preparedness and integrated security framework.
