Former Chief Justice of the Jammu & Kashmir High Court, Hon’ble Justice Tashi Rabstan, along with his wife, visited the Municipal Animal Care Centre at Roop Nagar, Jammu. During their visit, they spent meaningful time with stray and injured animals and personally brought food for them, feeding the animals with compassion and care.

Justice Rabstan appreciated the quality of medical care and overall treatment being provided to sick and injured animals at the Centre, including cattle, horses, and dogs. He commended the efforts of the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), under the leadership of Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav, in ensuring the welfare of homeless animals. He urged society at large to show empathy by feeding and sheltering stray animals in their respective areas.

Expressing his continued interest in animal welfare, Justice Rabstan also conveyed his willingness to visit other animal shelters being run by JMC.

Animal Welfare Officer, Dr. Gourav Chowdhary, and Veterinary Assistant Surgeon, Dr. Divya, briefed him about the various initiatives being undertaken by JMC for the care and rehabilitation of stray and abandoned animals.
