District Development Commissioner Jammu Sachin Kumar Vaishya today chaired a high-level meeting at MAM Stadium to review the preparedness for the Independence Day celebrations.

The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Joginder Singh; Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Harbaksh Singh; Additional Commissioner Revenue, Dr. Rajesh Kumar; Tehsildar Jammu Khas, Paramdeep Singh; Executive Engineers from line departments, and senior officers from other departments.

During the meeting, the DC took a comprehensive review of critical arrangements, including foolproof security, traffic regulation, crowd management, logistics and essential amenities for both students and visitors. Special directions were issued for deployment of medical teams, installation of emergency services, maintenance of sanitation, drinking water and uninterrupted power supply. The officers were tasked to ensure robust safety and seating measures for students participating in the parade and cultural events.

The DC emphasised the need for proactive inter-departmental coordination, clear communication among field staff, and timely completion of responsibilities to ensure a dignified and seamless event.
