Chief Minister Omar Abdullah addressed the School Leader of the Year 2026 Summit & Awards in New Delhi on Saturday morning, highlighting the need to build a future-ready education system that goes beyond examination-oriented learning.
The summit brought together leading educators and school leaders to celebrate excellence, innovation and institutional leadership in K-12 education.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that education must prepare young minds for life beyond examinations by equipping them with essential skills such as critical thinking, digital literacy and adaptability, along with a strong sense of shared responsibility.
The Chief Minister emphasised that a future-ready education system should focus not only on academic achievement but also on developing confident, capable and responsible citizens who can effectively navigate the challenges of a rapidly changing world.Stressing the importance of collaboration, the Chief Minister said that meaningful transformation in education requires collective efforts by governments, educators, educational institutions and communities.
The Chief Minister underlined that a shared commitment to excellence, innovation and effective institutional leadership is essential to nurturing the next generation and building a stronger, more inclusive and future-oriented education system.
