 Chief Education Officer Jammu, Ajeet Sharma along with Zonal Education Officer Rukhsana Kousar conducted an extensive tour of various government schools located within the Jammu Municipality to assess their functioning and the utilisation of Government-provided resources.

During the visit, the CEO issued instructions to Heads of Institutions to maintain cleanliness in and around school premises and ensure a hygienic learning environment.

He also directed Principals to closely monitor staff attendance through the JK Attendance App and ensure data is also uploaded on the Smart Attendance App. Expressing displeasure over low student attendance in some schools, the CEO instructed Heads of Institutions to organise regular meetings with parents, community members and other stakeholders to ensure consistent student attendance.

Teachers were advised to align classroom content with the guidelines of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, promoting critical thinking, creativity and activity-based learning. The CEO emphasised that students should be encouraged to learn through hands-on experiences to improve comprehension.

As part of the visit, the CEO also interacted with students and conducted a counselling session for Class 12 students at SRML Higher Secondary School, Parade, Jammu.

The schools visited included Government Girls Higher Secondary School Nowabad, Government Boys Higher Secondary School Bakshi Nagar and SRML Higher Secondary School Parade, Jammu.
