Strongly condemning the state action on JhandeWalan Temple in Delhi last week and its demolition by MCD, the JKNPP India activists held a massive protest demonstration in Udhampur Town today. Raising slogans against BJP and its Delhi govt and MCD headed by BJP, the protestors charged it of destroying on ancient Temple only to sub serve its vested political interests of benefitting a particular organization.

Pointing towards the media reports on the subject Mr Harsh Dev Singh chairman of the Party and Former Minister said that the demolished structures were mostly of the ancient Temple which were alleged to be centuries old. He said that as per the inhabitants of the area a 1500 years old temple of Gorakhnath ji was demolished to make way for parking space for RSS building located in the vicinity.

Describing the domination drive as an Act of sacrilege, Mr Singh regretted that the shrill cries of the public for saving the heritage and ancient temple were dis-regarded by the BJP regime only to please and appease one of its allied organization. He regretted that demolition videos projected a highly outrageous and profane spectacle with the idols of lord ‘Shiva’ and ‘Hanuman’ dragged by use of bulldozers and tractors. It was a horrible display of profanity where vandalizing was seen at its worst and that too in a regime which claims to champion the cause of Hindus, bemoaned Mr Singh.

Describing the present BJP as a conglomerate of political opportunists, Mr Singh said that it was no longer the party of Atal Behari Vajpayee or LK Advani who were guided by certain ethics, morality and avowed principles. He said the new model of BJP under the present regime had no love lost for any race or religion and could destroy anyone and anything to satiate its lust for power.

Mr Singh said that with several BJP leaders having been named in assisting militancy, in spying operations, in bovine smuggling, in promoting beaf trade, in vandalizing and razing temples and further seeking donations from beaf traders, the saffron party had stood divested of its sheen and steam as a Hindu based party and could defy and disparage any religion to remain glued to power.

Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Balwan Singh Ex chairman BDC Udhampur, Ashri Devi DDC Dudu Basantgarh, Dharam Singh, Bittu, Balbir Anthal, Subash Chander Sharma, WishavDev Singh, Kulbir Gupta Ex chairman MC Ramnagar, Dev Singh, Arjun Abrol, Pavan Sharma and other senior leaders of the party.
