Imposition of property tax is another blow to the already economically & politically distressed people of Jammu and Kashmir, by the bureaucratic UT regime and centre government, in the absence of an elected government.
Reacting sharply to the imposition of property tax by UT administration, JKPCC has said that the bureaucratic regime under the command of centre government is harassing the common people by issuing series of anti people orders.
The people of Jammu and Kashmir are already distressed both economically and politically ,in view of the long spell of terrorism and the prevailing security situation , coupled with the center government's experiments to deal with the problem, as a result the normal business and other activities remain derailed to great extent. In such a situation, the Jammu & Kashmir can't be equated with other UTs Or states in the matter of taxations, especially when no facilities of the like are available here.
The party questioned BJP over the promise of smart cities and metro cities to Jammu &Srinagar, which are nowhere but people are being forced to pay from their nose. Already all sorts of taxes have been imposed on people here, after downgrading to UT from a full fledged state,JKPCC said.
Seeking immediate withdrawal of the order, JKPCC has said that the government should immediately hold assembly elections and restore democracy and state. All such important decisions should be left to the elected government, it demanded.
