Chairman District Development Council Rajouri Adv Naseem Liaqat today kick started macadamization work on Rehtal to Karhad Road at Chowhana Galli Karhad.
The chairman was informed the total road length of the project is 12km and the blacktopping of the road was a long pending demand of the area as the road is the main artery of connectivity for Rehtal, Chowdharyanar, Ujhan and Karhad Panchayats and also for inter block connectivity as the road connects Block Rajouri with Panchayat Karhad of Block Koteranka and Panchayat Ujhan of Block Darhal.
Underscoring the importance of better roads for holistic development, the chairman said that provision of surface connectivity to all areas is being given first priority by him and the council.
While reiterating his commitment to ensure quality, the chairman directed the Engineers of PMGSY to regularly monitor the macadamization work and ensure quality in project execution.
A delegation of local residents also called upon the Chairman and apprised about their day to day sufferings including scarcity of water, lack of Health sub center, veterinary center, and other related matters. The chairman briefed the delegation that WSS for the area will be considered on priority under Jal Jeevan Mission and that he has proposed handpumps for the Panchayat under district capex ceiling, repairing of defunct handpumps shall be done on priority basis and resolved to take up the matter with the concerned quarters.
The chairman assured the local residents present on the occasion that he has committed himself for the overall development of the district in general and far off and neglected areas in particular, and further emphasised that all their greivances shall be redressed in a time bound manner.
