Arrested in theft case, an accused on Wednesday escaped from police custody prompting senior officers to initiate action against three policemen.
A senior police officer told that the accused was arrested in case a of theft in Jammu South but the recovery was made from him under the jurisdiction of Peermitha Police station.
He was also a drug addict and on Wednesday morning, the accused managed to give police the slip."He jumped from the wall and escaped," police added and said that three policemen on duty have been booked and suspended while a probe has been ordered.
