Rajouri:Two militants were killed along the Line of Control on Monday morning as Army troops foiled an infiltration bid from the Pakistan side into Jammu and Kashmir’s Nowshera sector of Rajouri district.
The Nagrota-based White Knight Corps posted on X that “based on inputs from intelligence agencies and @JmuKmrPolice regarding a likely infiltration bid, an anti-infiltration Operation was launched by #IndianArmy on the intervening night of 08-09 Sep 24 in general area Lam, #Nowshera”.
This comes nearly a week ahead of the Assembly elections scheduled to be held in J&K, with Rajouri set to go to the polls in the second phase on September 25.
Last week, a brief gunfight between suspected militants and security forces near the Thanamandi town on September 3 evening caused panic in the district.
Two militants have been neutralised and a large quantity of war-like stores including two AK-47s and one pistol has been recovered so far.
