MHA issues clarification on Amit Shah's 'negative' COVID-19 test result, says 'test not been conducted so far'

India :Hours after BJP leader Manoj Tiwari shared a tweet claiming the Home Minister Amit Shah has tested negative for novel coronavirus, the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a clarification saying no test has been conducted so far.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has tested negative for coronavirus, said Manoj Tiwari. Shah was admitted to Medanta hospital after he tested COVID-19 positive on August 2.
Shah tested positive for COVID-19 on August 2. Making the announcement on Twitter Shah said that he got tested after showing initial symptoms of the novel coronavirus.
"On getting the initial symptoms of corona, I got the test done and the report came back positive. My health is fine, but I am being admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors. I request that all of you who have come in contact with me in the last few days, please isolate yourself and get your inquiry done," he had said.
However, sources told IANS that social distancing was strictly followed at the cabinet meeting along with wearing of masks.
