A non-local labourer died of injuries after being shot at by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday, officials said.
Mukesh Singh, who hailed from Uttar Pradesh,  was shot at in Rajpora area of Pulwama district around 12.45 pm, officials said.
Kashmir Zone Police said in a post on X that “terrorists fired upon one labourer identified as Mukesh of UP in Tumchi Nowpora area of Pulwama, who later on succumbed to his injuries.”
This was the second terror attack in the Kashmir Valley in the past 24 hours. Militants had shot at and critically injured a police officer in Eidgah area of Srinagar.
Inspector Masroor Ahmad Wani was shot thrice while he was playing cricket with locals at the Eidgah ground.
Jammu and Kashmir Police chief Dilbag Singh on Monday said threats are still around and cops have to be careful and cautious about incidents like the attack on the police officer while playing cricket at a playground in Srinagar.
“We have to be cautious. The threats are still around; we cannot take these so lightly. We have to be careful, we have to be cautious and I pray that he would come out of it,” news agency quoted Dilbag Singh as saying on the sidelines of a function.
