The Indian Army is observing 2019 as year of NOK aimed to resolve their grievances and disseminate useful information about various welfare schemes instituted for them by Government of India. A Veteran Sampark Sammelan was organised by Tiger Division at Satwari Cantt, Jammu on 15 Nov 2019. Huge gathering of 800 NOKs, Veer Naris and 400 ESMs assembled and benefitted by various means.

 Maj Gen Sharad Kapur,GOC, Tiger Division presided over the Sammelan as Chief Guest. Shri Mukesh Kumar, IPS, IG Jammu Division was the Special Invitee.

To assist the Veer Naris and aged NOK of ESMs a number of mobility/ medical equipment like Wheel Chairs, Crutches, Walking Sticks, and Hearing Aids etc were distributed.

The drive was made possible with active support from Red Cross Society, Deptt of Social Justice Govt of J&K, Rotary Club Jammu and a number of NGOs. A special assistance stall was put up by J&K Police to resolve the grievances of ESM and NOKs.
