 As part of the fortnight celebrations of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Foundation Day, former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta along with MP Jugal Kishore handover keys to beneficiaries of Prime Minister Awas Yojna at Ward No 61 in Channi Himmat area here today. The beneficiaries of the Prime Minister Awas Yojna schemes during today’s programme were Tarsem Lal, Mohinder Kumar and Guddi Devi. MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, while speaking on the occasion, congratulated the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and lauded the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking care of the common people of the world’s largest democracy. Detailing about the scheme he said that Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban seeks to resolve housing shortage in urban areas and aims to provide proper houses to all eligible urban households. Terming it as a flagship housing scheme, he said that it seeks to resolve even the housing problems of slum dwellers by providing them appropriate houses.The BJP MP said that though the previous Govt had also floated a scheme pertaining to housing but it was only a cosmetic affair under which Earlier houses were given to a very few people and that too after seeing faces.
He said that special care has been taken to ensure that substantial percentage of the houses under the PM Awas Yojna get registered in the name of the women as joint owners.Kavinder Gupta, in his address, said that previous state governments left the poor people in this sensitive region to the mercy of God least bothering to take special measures to ameliorate their sufferings. Accusing the aforesaid governments of not having the will power to do any good for the welfare of the poor people, Kavinder said that it is the sincere intention and strong will and determination as a result of which the BJP Govt led by Prime Minister Narender Modi has provided houses to millions across the nation including the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Kavinder appealed to the people to vote for BJP in the upcoming Assembly elections of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly to ensure that more pro-people schemes especially for the poor continue to be rolled out in future too.
