A local politician was shot by suspected terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thursday. Identified as Ghulam Hussan Lone, the victim was a former PDP block president who had been working with the J&K Apni Party in recent months.
Initial reports indicate that terrorists opened fire at Ghulam Hussan Lone outside his residence in Kulgam’s Devsar. Lone was rushed to a local hospital with critical injuries.
Doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The area in and around Devsar in J&K’s Kulgam has been cordoned off by security forces who have launched a search operation to track down the suspected terrorists.
