The Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled National Democratic Alliance government is on a path of reclamation for the 'India' they promised to build when they came to power under Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the first time in 2014.

The long-standing contention of the saffron party to bring the state of Jammu and Kashmir within the national fold and under the same Constitution (J&K had a separate Constitution) was achieved when thecentral government on 5 August 2019 abrogated Article 370, stripping the stateof its special status and dividing it into two Union Territories — Jammu andKashmir (with a Legislative Assembly), and Ladakh (without a Legislative Assembly).

BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav on Saturday saidnow that the Indian government has abrogated Article 370, the dream of 'AkhandBharat' (Undivided India) will be fulfilled only when Pakistan-occupied Kashmirwill be taken back.

Madhav made the comments while speaking at Vigyan Bhawan inNew Delhi to participants of 'Chhatra Sansad'.

"It will happen in phases. The first thing is thatJammu and Kashmir, which was somewhat not in the mainstream, has beenholistically connected to India. Our next objective is to take back the Indianland which is under illegal occupation of Pakistan," the senior BJP leadersaid, adding that the Indian Parliament had in 1994 passed a resolution toreclaim PoK.

Madhav added that India of the 20th Century was a"reticent and romantic" country that carried the dreams of the peopleof a newly-independent nation. However, the current lot is ambitious andpragmatic, he said.

"The 21st century Bharat is different from the 20thCentury Bharat that was romantic and reticent as it had dreams of newlyindependent people and was ruled by freedom fighters. But the 21st centuryBharat is pragmatic, pro-active and ambitious as it belongs to the youth,"news agency PTI quoted Madhav as saying.
