Militant recruitment that had come down in the valley this year is showing signs of picking up as more youth continue to join their ranks, despite the life span of a local militant having decreased manifolds.
 The Government has maintained that more youth continue to join the Militant ranks because of its glorification through many proxy social media accounts, which remain faceless and are operated on behest of Intelligence agencies in Pakistan.

Today, photo of one more missing youth have appeared on the social media in which he is seen brandishing an assault rifle and has joined the Militant outfit, Jaish e Muhammad.

*The youth has been identified as Zahid Ahmed Khanday, son of Tariq Ahmed Khanday who is a resident of Hugam area in Sirigufwara of South Kashmir’s Islamabad (anantnag) District.*

Sources that Zahid who was pursuing graduation had went missing from his home since June 21.

They said that his brother had also been arrested the last month after he went missing earlier in June, he returned home after which his brother was released. Few days after the release of his brother, Zahid went missing again.

“Hugam is comparatively the most calm area of the entire Kanelwan belt, the area was silent even in 2016 when the entire valley was gripped by deadly protests against the killing of Burhan Wani,”Sources said, adding that, not even a single incident of stone pelting or a protest happened in Hugam.


Officials have recently said that 700 Militants have been killed* in the past three years in Jammu Kashmir.
One more youth from South Kashmir has picked arms and posed with an AK 47 rifle to tell his family that he has joined Militant ranks.

The youth has been identified as Javid Ahmed Zargar son of Bashir Ahmed Zargar, a resident of Rang Mulla area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District.*

Locals told The Kashmiriyat that Javid had left home a few days back after which he disappeared.

The family looked for him everywhere and today his photo appeared on the social networking with him announcing his entry into the militant outfit Jaish e Muhammad.

An official said that they are confirming the authenticity of the photograph.
